Speakers of this language are on Sabu Island and Raijua Island in the Savu Sea to the west of Timor Island in the province of East Nusa Tenggara. Sabu people are spread around on other islands, including Sumba, Timor, and Flores. Lii Hawu has 5 dialects, each with unique differences in sounds and vocabulary. The number of speakers are approximately ±80.000-100.000.
This translation is based on the Seba dialect as the most widely known in the historical and commercial center.
